Bancha
The cup is sweet and smoother in taste than Sencha. "Ban-cha" is a traditional , daily use, Japanese Green tea that is made from mature leaves at the end of the growing season. Leaves are gently steamed after harvesting and then carefully roasted, which creates the characteristic toasty flavor.  Lower in caffeine than Sencha.

Genmaicha
A specialty Japanese tea that is blended with fire-toasted rice. During the firing of the rice, it is common for some of the rice to 'pop', hence the nickname of 'popcorn-tea.' Infusion is a light, golder yellow with a delicious toasty rice flavor. A very soothing tea.  Can be re-steeped up to 3 times. ($2.50/oz., two ounce minimum)

Hojicha
Roasted Japanese green tea with a rich, comforting toasty flavor. Westerners find Hojicha to rather unusual, but in Japan it is one of the most commonly consumed teas. The roasting process removes much of the caffeine, and because of its low caffeine content Hojicha is often served with meals and is enjoyed by children, much as Western children would enjoy hot cocoa.
