About Us

Island Tea Company opened its doors in 1998 with the belief that the freshest and most fragrant teas should be available and affordable to all, even on an island in the middle of Puget Sound.

Where our teas are concerned, we don't offer the rarest or the most expensive or the newest fad. We do offer fresh, fragrant, delicious teas which our customers return for, time and time again. When you order from our bulk tea selections, you will be purchasing the best quality, freshest tea available.

At Island Tea, we believe tea need not be a complicated thing. Tea is at its best when prepared with loose leaves, fresh cold water brought to a boil, and when enjoyed in a favorite cup and with a bit of time. We think you'll find a cup of fragrant tea can clear the head, cheer the heart and soothe the soul.

Although our island shop closed in May of 2010, when you visit our online shop you will still find a cozy place filled with intriguing teas, teawares, and sweet gifts.  With a quick call or email, our friendly knowledgeable staff can help guide you in the selection of a new tea or direct you to one of your old favorites.  By the way, if you ask "What's the best tea? our reply will always be "The best tea is the one you like the best!"
